Should You Use Full Service, Rent, Or Buy Your Vending Machines

Choosing vending machines for your place of business is usually a great idea. Offering a wide variety of drinks can benefit break rooms, make apartment complexes, and be a great way to meet employee or customer needs in a wide variety of business locations. However, once you have made the decision to add vending machines you will then need to decide the best method for adding vending machines to your location.

Full service.

Often times there are huge advantages to a full service vending machine deal. You will choose a company. They will bring the equipment and put it in place. They will then load all the drinks into the machine. One of their service personnel will come and pick up the money and reload the machine. Often times this type of contract will give the business where the machines reside a commission based on sales. At the same time the full service company will be in charge of taking care of the machines, servicing them, removing any expired drinks, and paying any other costs. It is safe and easy for the business who provides the location and makes a percentage of the money without any work. You also don't have to deal with insurance, taxes, or refunds.

Renting.

For those who want a little more control over the vending machines and a little more profit it is possible to rent them. This allows you to choose what drinks will go into your vending machines. You can purchase those drinks at wholesale prices or get ones that are on sale. You will make all of the profit, minus the cost to rent the vending machines. The disadvantages often come from the work of keeping the machines full, buying the product, and collecting the money. You will also have to deal with expiration of drinks, cleaning the machine, and other issues such as insurance, taxes, and refunds. However, most companies who rent out vending machines are responsible for maintenance and repair of the machines which can remove a huge burden off of you while still allowing you full control.

Owning.

You can buy vending machines, both new and used. This makes it so that everything is your responsibility, but you can also make a greater profit. You will also be able to have total control over the drinks that go into your vending machines. You will responsible for the success or failure of the vending machines in your care. This can often be a bigger risk then the other types of options for your business, but also gives you the most flexibility and the opportunity for the greatest profit. For most companies, it isn't worth it to own your own machines. While you do have the great advantage of complete control, you have the more to deal with and more required of you.

There are a lot of reasons why one would want to add vending machines to their business. By choosing to do so you can make a profit while meeting the needs of customers and or employees. Whether you choose full service, renting, or owning options is going to depend on your resources, how much control you want over it, and how much profit you hope to make from it.
